With a very limited budget ($145,000 in 1995), this new house for a retired couple was designed to rest on piles above the flood plain (without the use of concrete) on a lagoon in Indian Neck (Branford, CT). Its simple, shingle style, cottage vernacular sits comfortably and gracefully on its small site.
